Thank you, Lord, for
Blue skies, sunshine
Pink and lavender sunrise,
Red, magenta, purple, violet
Petunias, tulips, pansies in riot
Crisp mornings, fresh coffee flavor
Bicycles, sneakers, senses to savor

     Thank you, Lord, for
Fresh mown grass, gentle noon breezes
Raindrops on window panes, snow that freezes
     Playful kittens sleeping, cuddling close
Phone calls from people I love the most
     Music, melody, sweet harmonies
     Pianos, singing, grand symphonies
     Plays on stages, reading, romance
     Laughter, silence, friendship’s glance

          Thank you, Lord, for
Horses to ride, beaches to stroll
Corn on the cob, fresh dinner rolls
Juicy sweet berries, tastes of summer abound
Bright early morning with no one around
Hot bubble baths, fresh milkshakes, cold water
          Computers, vacuums, strong arms, dishwasher
Machines for laundry and other hard tasks
Sons who smile and do what I ask
Husband, strong father, patient and kind
Loves unconditionally, can’t read my mind

      Thank you, Lord, for
      Mothers, sisters, grandmothers, baking
Dark chocolate, cold milk, warm cookies making
Tender juicy steak – cooked just right
      Families, holidays, Christmas Eve night
Honey on biscuits or sausage gravy
      Jesus, loving, dying, saving
      Sleeping, waking, a comfortable bed
God forgiving, gracious, just as He said
